About Us

We, Parijat Sevalay Pvt. Ltd., have been working to provide high quality affordable healthcare to the populace of Bardhaman since the past 26 years. Located in the heart of Purba Bardhaman, we have become a ray of hope in the eyes of the people here due to our integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to providing satisfactory services to each patient.

Being in the centre of the town, our hospital is easily accessible through all means of transport. We boast of 100 operational beds, a fully functional ICU, 5 well equipped Operation Theatres including a labour room, Dialysis facility, a medium size laboratory, an in-house pharmacy, an ambulance service, and even a cafeteria serving nutritious food.

We have recently inaugurated a radiodiagnostic unit with a functional X-ray machine and will soon be offering Ultrasound imaging as well.

Dr. Parijat Nandi

Dr. Parijat Nandi (MD, DGO, Obstetrics & Gynaecology) was a dynamic personality. From humble beginnings, he rose to become one of the most, if not the most, sought after gynaecologists in town. He completed his schooling from St. Xavier’s School, Mumbai, while his pre-medicine from Presidency University formerly Presidency College; and through perseverance and determination, got himself into the oldest and arguably the most reputable medical college in the country at the time: Medical College, Kolkata (MCK), formerly Calcutta Medical College. Dr. Parijat Nandi then completed his DGO from Chittaranjan Seva Sadan and went on to pursue an MD from Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research and SSKM Hospital, Kolkata (informally known as PG Hospital). He then took up a teaching position at Burdwan Medical College and Hospital before focusing solely on his private practice, which soon flourished due to his skill and compassion.
Dr. Parijat Nandi was one of the pioneers of laparoscopic surgery in Burdwan. In his quest to serve, he set up Parijat Sevalay in 1996, one of the biggest, and subsequently the best, hospital in Burdwan at the time.

Smt. Ratna Nandi

Smt. Ratna Nandi, was born in 1952 and studied at Deshpriya Balika Vidyalaya. A woman of culture, she then completed her B.A. Hons in Philosophy from Bethune College in 1968, and subsequently decided to opt for M.A. in Philosophy from Calcutta University, which was a rarity at the time. Smt Ratna Nandi genuinely wanted to improve the lives of others so she decided to get a BEd. from Hazra College and become a lecturer. But life got in the way and she chose to quit her job after she married Dr. Parijat Nandi.
However, her need to have a positive impact on the lives of people ensured that she channelised her passion into the inception of Parijat Sevalay. Smt Ratna Nandi has, since then, been the backbone of Parijat Sevalay. She has been deeply involved in the running of the hospital and the people who know her swear by her diligence, dedication, and above all, her compassion.
Her kindness has impacted one and all, and the fact that the people who were patients at Parijat Sevalay back then continue to have fond relations with her to this date is a testimony to it.
Smt Ratna Nandi is now both the guiding light and the force behind Parijat Sevalay.

These pearls of wisdom is what my father, Dr. Parijat Nandi lived by, and what my mother, Smt Ratna Nandi taught me. Truely, it is in the service of others where we find true happiness, and this is the founding principle of Parijat Sevalay. We, at Parijat Sevalay, focus on patient satisfaction, above all else. I realise the importance of compassion and kindness in a healthcare setting. Which is why as an ophthalmic surgeon I maintain a gentle and friendly demeanour towards my patients. Which is why as Medical teacher, I teach my students how developing empathy is as important as developing clinical skills. And which is why, as Managing Director I endeavour to bring the best services to the people who come to our hospital and put their faith in us. We have been blessed to be trusted by the people in and around Bardhaman for more than 25 years now, and we take that very seriously. Over the past few years we have been rapidly expanding our services and renovating our premises to the best of our ability and it gives me great pride to say that we have now received NABH accreditation and also registered under our states pride "Swastha sathi".
